Mentoring and Advising Students for Success (MASS)
University of Tennessee Health Science Center/ The Research Center on
Health Disparities, Equity, and the Exposome, Baylor College of
Medicine, and the Intercultural Cancer Council are committed to the NIH
mission of “fostering a diverse and highly capable biomedical and
behavioral research workforce” and meeting the academic and community
needs of our respective communities.  Toward that end, we
are sponsoring a biomedical mentoring symposium for minority and
underserved racial/ethnic and disadvantaged groups. The symposium will
include two tracks: basic science and social behavioral/public health
and will provide mentoring opportunities to encourage high school and
college students to pursue careers and graduate education in the
biomedical sciences, medicine, allied health, dentistry and research
(basic, clinical, translational, and health disparities).  The meeting will take place March 25th-26th and will include a poster session, small group discussions, speakers from various disciplines, and networking opportunities.
